The same thing goes for taking your dream vacation. Where would you go? What exactly would you do? How long would you stay? The more details you include the better!

People who know exactly what they want are much more equipped to succeed than someone who is going into their business blindly.

If writing your dreams and goals down isn’t enough you might want to think about cutting out pictures from magazines or taking pictures of things that you want or things that symbolize something special to you like quitting your job or spending more time with your kids.

All network marketers know that one of the hardest things to deal with when you’re new in your business is dealing with people who think you should get a “real job.” I’ve personally never really understood it. I means what’s so great about a job anyway?

Here is something I just don’t understand… why do so many people listen to their broke friends? I’ve wondered this for years and years. I mean sure if you want advice on dating then maybe, or clothes I guess that’s ok, but why take advice on money from someone who doesn’t have any?

There is something that successful people know that your broke friends will never ever tell you. That secret is that when you join a home based business… any home based business you can succeed or you could fail and here is the kicker the choice is totally up to you!

You heard me right, success is a choice. It always has been and it always will be. If you choose to fail you will and if you choose to succeed you’ll do that too.

So why would anyone choose to fail? Well I really don’t think they know they’re doing it but they are. If you join a business with the idea that you’ll “give it a shot” you can stop right there because you’ve just made a choice to fail in that business.

If you join a business but you don’t want to tell any of your family and friends about it you’ve again chosen failure instead of success. And if you join a business and barely work at it or only give it a month or two you’ve chosen the road to failure.

So how do you choose success then? After all nobody joins a business and knowingly wants to fail. At least not any sane person.

Well for starters you can join the business with the mindset that it’s going to change your life forever. Don’t think small like an extra $500 or $1000 a month, think BIG. Nobody who “gives it a shot” will ever see success so take that out of your vocabulary right now.

You also have to be confident enough in your business to tell the people who are closest to you about it. This does not mean bugging your friends and family until they’re avoiding your calls and pretending like their not home. It just means that you should share it with them. If they say no that’s totally fine. You just shouldn’t be ashamed of what you’re doing.

Another way to choose success is to give yourself time to win. There isn’t a business alive that can promise you wealth in a couple of months. It’s going to take some time, but believe me it’s well worth it.

Get all the negativity out of your business and don’t let people tell you you’re going to fail. If you listen to them you will fail.

Too often in life we leave our personal success in the hands of others but the real winners in life know that you and you alone are in control of your financial future.

It’s frustrated me for years that so many people leave their success for other people to decide. Why is that? Whether it’s your spouse, your boss, your parents or your friends you have to cut it out! Well think about it. When you have a job your boss has all the power. He (or she) can hire you, fire you, give you a raise, promote you, demote you… whatever they want. It really doesn’t matter how hard you work or how much better you are than anyone else in your office because we all know that promotions and raises are never JUST about performance.

Few things frustrate people more than getting passed over for a promotion because of office politics or favoritism.

You’d think after some point we’d start to get it… but most people just don’t. The only way to be completely in control of your bank account is to work for yourself.

It’s not just your boss that can hold you back though. Many times people let their spouses talk them out of starting a home based business. This is perhaps the most tragic thing of all because if your spouse is stopping you from starting your own business they aren’t just hurting you they’re also hurting themselves and stopping your children from living the life of their dreams!

Now let’s not forget about parents. You do not have to tell them every little thing about your business.  Tell them just enough to get them curious and make them want more information.  Videos should be no more than 4 minutes at the very most.  This ensures that more people will stay until the end and not miss anything.

2.  Thinking Like A “Business Owner”, Not A Prospect

If you want more prospects you have to think like a prospect.  This does not mean talking down to epople but there are some things that people outside of home based businesses just do not care about.  Keep your message simple and make sure you are speaking to the prospect about things that are important to them.

3.  Talking Without Enthusiasm

There really is not much to say about this.  If you are not excited about your business, then why should anyone else be?  You do not have to be cheesy or over the top, but better lay it on too thick than seem like you are bored out of your mind.

4.  Not Talking Loud Enough

People should not have to turn their speakers all the way up to hear you.  I see videos again and again where the audio is just all messed up.  You do not have to be a professional to market on sites like YouTube and Revver, but make sure you pay attention to your audio.

If you are doing a video late at night and your wife and kids are asleep, skip it….it is just now worth it if you have to whisper.

5.  Standing Too Far Away

Unless you are standing in front of Niagra Falls or the great pyramids, do not stand so far away!  There is no need to be 10 feet away from the camera.  You want your prospect to be focusing on your, not your background.  Make sure you do not have anything distracting on your wall or anywhere in the shot.  Nothing should take away from your message.

Facebook and Myspace are both excellent sources for free Internet marketing.  Which is better for marketing your home based business?

First, let me say that I think everyone should have both a Myspace and a Facebook account.  After all, they are free.  But when it comes to which one you should spend the most time on I would have to say Myspace.

Why do I say that?  Because Myspace gives you more freedom to market the way you want to market.  Facebook really does not have a lot of desire to e a marketing site.  They are a social network that is high on the social factor.  When they discover that you are marketing your business, they do not take it kindly.

There are things you can do on Facebook, however.  Joining groups on Facebook is where the real marketing takes place.   There are tons of groups on Facebook dedicated to MLM, network marketing and home based business opportunities.  In these groups you can talk about your business as well as get tips from others on how to be more successful.

Aside from the groups on Facebook there really are not a lot of other marketing opportunities.  In fact, Facebook monitors how many friends you request and will not let you send out bulk messages to too many people.

Myspace, on the other hand, is much more open to letting you market whatever you want to on their site.  You can say a lot more on your Myspace page than on your Facbook profile.  A lot more information can be given about your opportunity on your Myspace page.

Myspace also does not care about how many people you request in a day.  In fact, the more friends you have, the better.  Bottom line:  You have a lot more freedom on Myspace.

Spend time on both Myspace and Facebook.  They are great tools for marketing your business for free online.  However, when it comes to marketing, Myspace is the social networking king when it comes to marketing your home based business.

…then you need to start living life based on your dreams and not your circumstances.  The most successful people in the world know tha tjust becuase you are in one place in your life right now does not mean you have to stay there.

Before becoming a box office superstar, actor Jim Carey was homeless and living in his car.  He now commands millions per movie and is one  of the most famous actors in Hollywood.

J.K. Rowling, the author of the immensely successful Harry Potter series, was divorced, unemployed, and living on welfare with an infant before she published her first book.  It is not rumored she has more money than the Queen of England.

So what does all of this ahve to do with you?  All of these people came from horrible circumstances.  They were living lives so horrible that it would have been extremely easy just to give up on their dreams and live a life of “barely getting by.”  Hopefully your life is not nearly as tragic but even if it is there is always a way out of it.

Your circumstances do not make you who you are and no situation is permanent.  If you want success, you need to start living like you are successful.  That does not mean speanding money you do not have, but it does mean walking with your head up and presenting yourself as a positive, motivated, and successful person.

Nobody wants to be in business with a negative person with no confidence.  If that is how you present yourself, your success will be very, very limited.  When you start living your life based on the life you want instead of the life you are accepting, everything will change for the better.

Home based business success is something that can happen for anyone.  Start living like you are going to be one of them and soon you will be!
