Don’t Be Addicted To Home Business Failure

April 30th, 2009

I’m going to ask you something that you’ll probably immediately say no to. Are you addicted to home based business failure?

How do I know 99.9% of you will answer no? Because nobody actually ever believes they’re causing themselves to fail. After all it’s much easier to blame the company or the industry or your family or your upline or your downline or the milk man (hey why not?) or pretty much anyone else but yourself.

However, the sad fact is that if you’ve every failed (or are currently failing) in a home based business you have absolutely no one to blame but yourself. And what’s even worse is if you’ve failed in more than one home based business you might just be addicted home business failure!

Addiction to home business failure is a sneaky little mind trick. It makes you believe that you’re actually trying to succeed working from home when in reality you’re just setting yourself up for failure again and again.

So why would anyone do this? I mean how could you actually get addicted to failure?

Well it’s different for everybody. For some people the failure feels good because it allows them to have a pity party for themselves. Don’t we all like to do that from time to time? Just sit down and have a really good griping session about how life has screwed us over and how we’re just not to blame?

Another reason people “enjoy” the failure is because it proves them right. I’ve often heard people say: “Well I don’t think this thing is going to work but I guess I’ll try it and see”

When you say that… you’ve already decided you’re going to fail and once you do it feels good because you’ve now proven you were right all along.

Are you seeing where I’m going with this? Have you heard anything that sounds familiar? If you have the first step to recovery is realizing you have a problem.

Don’t allow yourself to blame others for your failure. Understand that it is completely 100% possible to be successful, really successful, working from home. And if you don’t succeed it’s not because of anyone else, it’s because of you and you alone.

Once you get that through your head you should be able to cure your deadly addiction to home based business failure. Remember, you probably won’t be cured overnight! You have to keep working on yourself every day to make sure you’re not giving yourself any excuse to fail working from home.

Stop the addiction to home business failure and start winning for a change. It might feel good to fail… but it will feel really great to finally win!

Article Marketing A Dead Marketing Tool?

April 29th, 2009

Lately I’ve been reading a lot of stuff online saying that the “old school” ways of internet marketing are dead. Of course at the top of that list is article marketing.

I wondered if this could be true. Having a background in both multi level marketing AND internet marketing I figured it wouldn’t be too hard to find out the truth.

What I found out shocked me!

After talking to MLMer’s, and home based or small business owners of all different kinds I found out the truth.

Article marketing is only dead if you’re not using it! haha I know that doesn’t make much sense but go with me…

The people I spoke with who were USING article marketing loved it! It might not be the only thing they are doing online (in most cases not) but they wouldn’t stop doing it for anything.

Article directories are also doing very well and how could that be if article marketing doesn’t work?

The people I spoke to who weren’t using article marketing of course told me it was an old tired method and to forget about it and start doing other things to market my business…

Now this is just me… but if you want to find out if something works or not wouldn’t you talk to the people who are actually doing it? Just makes good sense to me.

So what’s the final verdict?

NO article marketing is NOT DEAD it’s still alive, very well and working like crazy for the people who are actually using it.

I will add one more thing… article marketing really works at it’s very best when it’s coupled with well written informative articles. If you’re putting out junk with no real value you’re not going to get the full benefit of article marketing. When you do it the right way though, there is nothing like it for generating prospects every single month without fail!

Successful Home Business: Attending Your Network Marketing Company’s Annual Convention

April 28th, 2009

Pretty much all network marketing companies have a yearly or bi-yearly conference, seminar or meeting of some kind. For a lot of people that means traveling a long way and spending a lot of money on hotel, travel and food.

So with all that time and expense is it really worth it to go to these big meetings every year? This is why my answer is yes.

First of all the information you’re going to get at most big meetings is something you’re not going to be able to put a price on. I have heard so many people talk about struggling in their business until they went to one big convention and it turned their entire business around forever.

There is something really amazing about being able to rub elbows with the top producers in your company. This is an opportunity that can give you the knowledge and motivation to do amazing things in your business all year long. After all who better to tell you how to make money in your chosen business than the people who have actually done it?

Another reason for choosing to invest time and money in your company’s convention is it’s a great opportunity to create some marketing materials. Many people take their cameras and shoot a ton of marketing videos. You can do some solo and some with the different leaders in your team. These tools can be used all year long and can make you a ton of money if you use them on sites like Youtube and best of all it’s free.

At a lot of company’s conferences have special promotions that are only available to the people who come to the conference. So by not going you could be missing out on a great opportunity to take your business to the next level.

You can get a lot out of information, and motivation from going to your network marketing company’s yearly convention. Do what you need to do to never miss another one of your company’s events ever again. You won’t be sorry you did.

Successful Home Business And The Reality Of The “NO”

April 16th, 2009

The word “No” isn’t exactly the most fun word to hear in a successful home business . Even when you were a kid asking for a new toy or a candy bar “no” equaled sadness and rejection. So what I’m about to say might just shock you. In a home based business you need to get excited about the no’s!

That’s right it’s not a typo the word no is actually your friend so learn to embrace it. Of course it’s not as fun as everyone’s favorite word “yes” but really… no ain’t so bad!

I know you probably have no idea what I’m talking about. After all you can’t build an income off of a bunch of “no” right? Well maybe not but if you’re hearing a ton of “no” every single day you can rest assured that you’re doing the right thing.

See if you’re hearing a lot of that word it means you’re talking to a lot of people and talking to a lot of people is always a good thing. Everyone can have success in a home based business it’s just about finding the 2 or 3 people you need to really make your business explode.

So how do you find these people? Well for starters you’re going to have to talk to a ton of people. Do you know what happens when you talk to a lot of people about your home based business. You’re going to hear a ton of “no”.

Now every time someone tells you no you can rejoice because that means you’re just one step closer to your next yes. If you’re only hearing one or two “no’s” a day you gotta step it up!

See what most people do is they get excited and the first time they hear a couple of rejections they get all frustrated and give up. You just have to power through the “no’s” as fast as you can and then the “yes’” will seem to come a whole lot faster.

So in conclusion learn to embrace the word “no”. Maybe even love it? Ok so love might be too strong a word. But no matter what just know that it’s not your fault and every “no” brings you that much closer to a big fat “yes!”

American Idol Lessons About MLM And Successful Home Based Businesses

April 16th, 2009

I know it sounds crazy but it’s true… you really can learn a lot about MLM from watching American Idol. Don’t have a clue what I’m talking about? Well check this out!

American Idol is the most popular show on T.V…. Why? Could it be Ryan Seacrest’s perfectly coifed head? Could it be Simon’s tiny black t-shirts? The crazy people who think they can sing but really sound like a dying cat? Or could it be that America’s favorite show holds little nuggets of knowledge for the home based business owner? Hmmm…

A.I Rule Number One: Keep on keeping’ on!

Have you ever seen an audition with someone who has a horrible voice but they just keep singing anyway? Simon tries to stop them and Randy tells them “it just wasn’t good dog” but they still keep going.

Ok, ok I know it’s really annoying on the show but in life that is exactly what you have to do. Keep on singing- er prospecting no matter what. You might have to hear a hundred no’s but if you keep on going you’ll get some yes’ too!

A.I Rule Number Two: The world is full of Simons

He might be mean and nasty but he’s always going to be on the show and trust me there are a lot of Simons out there! People are always going to tell you you’re crazy when you first get started in a home based business it’s just a fact of life. Ignore them and move on. Remember for every Simon there is always a Paula.

A.I. Rule Number Three: You gotta stand out!

Boring people never make it on American Idol. Even if they are really talented and have great voices if you’re dull you’re probably not gonna make it past the first audition. If you really want to succeed in a home based business you’re going to have to learn to stand out. No you don’t have to dress in a chicken costume… well unless you want to. Just don’t blend it with everyone else!

A.I. Rule Number 4: Don’t fake it

You don’t have to pretend to be someone else to have success. You can have success in any business as long as you’re the best version of yourself. The voters, um I mean prospects, can always spot a fake and nobody likes a phony.

Build A Successful Home Business Network Marketing Downline: Leave The Slackers Alone!

April 15th, 2009

When you’re trying to build a successful team of people there are going to be some who are really motivated, some who just need a little nudge and some who are just going to drag you down. Do yourself and your entire team a favor and leave the slackers alone! Pretty much everyone who has worked from home knows that there are going to be people that are impossible to motivate. They say their want success with their mouths but their actions say otherwise. It can be really easy to waste a lot of time and energy on these type of people… but don’t do it!

I’m not saying that those slackers can’t be on your team, but don’t let them bring you or your other team members down. If you have a negative or lazy person on your team (and who doesn’t) the best thing to do is just to leave them alone. Spend your time on the people who really want success and are willing to work hard for it after all they deserve it. Obviously there are good people who just need a little encouragement or a bit of your time to get back on the right track but that’s not what I’m talking about.

I’m talking about the people who no matter what you say or do they always have something negative to say or they just plain don’t take action. Action is the real measure of how much someone wants success in a home based business. It’s super easy to say that you want to make a lot of money from home, Lord knows most people do. But there is a difference between wanting it and doing what it takes to earn it!

This may sound like a really mean approach but sometimes that is just what these type of people need. They need to know that the way to get attention is to work for it. Stop complaining and start doing something. If people really want to have success they’ll get it no matter what you say and if they don’t there isn’t anything you could do to motivate them.

So forget about the slackers and start spending time on the part of your team that is serious about success. It will be a great move for you and your entire downline!

Successful Home Business – Open Your Ears And Not Your Mouth When Prospecting

April 9th, 2009

When you’re talking to people about your home based business it can be easy to do too much talking and not enough listening but if you really want to make an impression on a prospect sometimes you have to be quiet and just listen!

A lot of people like to use scripts when calling a prospect but I don’t believe you can really connect with a person over the phone if you’re bound to a script. People want to feel like you’re a real person who is interested in them not just trying to sell them on something and unless you listen up you’re never going to be that person.

Much of getting a prospect to sign up is about building a relationship with them. You may have to talk to them 5 or 10 times before they decide what they’re going to do. And when you know a lot about their life it will be easier to build that relationship.

And keeping your ears open is not limited to talking to prospects. If you listen up people will tell you that they want what you have. People are always talking about how much they hate their job or paycheck or boss and when you pay attention you’ll know exactly what to say and when to say it to them.

This doesn’t mean that you jump in front of random people in the grocery store line and force them to listen to your business plan, just pay attention for a good opportunity because they are out there!

If you’re not listening to people you might just miss out on a huge opportunity to tell someone about your business.

You might also be talking to someone who is obviously not interested. If that’s the case you don’t want to waste anymore of your time. After all as a business owner your time is valuable.

By talking less and listening more you’ll build better relationships, find more people to talk to about your business and maybe even cross a few people off your list. So the next time you find yourself talking a mile a minute about your business stop and take a minute to just listen.

Looking For A Home Business? How To Weed Through The Riff Raff

April 8th, 2009

Are you looking for a home based business? If so you’re probably getting a tad bit overwhelmed with all the ads and websites and videos and articles all designed to sell you on a particular company. So how exactly do you know when a company is telling you the truth and when they’re lying to you just to get you involved in their business? Listen up!

First of all if someone tells you that you can have success without work run and run fast. Nothing comes without work so either their a scammer or they’re a part of a legitimate company but they themselves are a liar either way it’s not a good situation. There are lots of things that can help to automate your business but even those are going to require some effort on your part.

Secondly, don’t trust anyone who will tell you how much money you’ll be making in your first few months because there is no way they could possibly promise you that. Is it possible for you to make a lot of money your first year… yes. But it will be based on your hard work and effort not because the company guarantees it to anyone.

The next thing to look out for is someone who is going to pressure you into joining their company. If someone is a part of a great opportunity they aren’t going to have to bug and beg everyone to get started. If someone seems too eager to get you to sign on the dotted line right away they probably don’t have your best interest at heart.

Finally, just remember to trust your instincts. If a company seems too good to be true it might just be. Even though home based businesses can allow you to live an amazing life beyond you wildest dreams all success comes after hard work and solid effort and if someone is promising you something different they aren’t telling you the truth.

Don’t get bogged down with the riff raff out there and find a great home business that’s right for you there are lots of them out there.

Successful Home Business: Joining An Established Company Vs. A Ground Floor Opportunity

April 7th, 2009

If you are in the process of trying to find the best home based business for you you’re going to be faced with a lot of different choices. One of the biggest things you will have to decide is if you want to go with an older more established company or a newer ground floor company. There are pros and cons to each decision and it will be up to you to decide what’s best for you. This article is designed to give you the information you need to make an informed decision.

Many people are of the opinion that an older more established company is going to be your best choice. Their reasoning is that if a company has lasted 5, 10 or 15 plus years it must be a good opportunity right? In many ways that is absolutely true the chances of an older company going out of business after 10 years or so is very unlikely. Another great thing about an older company is that there will be plenty of training and success stories available to you when you get started.

The downside of an older company is that most people who are making the big bucks are people who have been in the company for a very long time. This is of course not always the case and it is completely possible to come into an older company and make a very large income, it’s really up to how hard you are willing to work.

The upside to starting in a newer company is that the opportunity is wide open. The market hasn’t been saturated and there is a good chance that if you work hard you could be one of the top earners since there are fewer people in the beginning. This is a huge draw for many people who are hungry to get in in the beginning and have the biggest opportunity possible.

The downside to a new company is that if they aren’t run the right way they might not be around forever and that can be scary for some people. Another down side is that there aren’t going to be as many tools to help you succeed right away and you certainly won’t have as many success stories at least not for a while.

If you’re a risk taker who wants to make the most money possible and enjoys breaking new ground than a ground floor opportunity is probably right for you. If you’re looking for a more sure thing with more support an older more established company is probably more your style.

Choose the company that is best for you but just know that whatever opportunity you choose the key to success really lies with you!

Successful Home Business: The Proof Is ALWAYS In The Pudding!

April 2nd, 2009

Have you ever met someone who is constantly tooting their own horn? It can get really annoying. However, sometimes the person is so good and telling people how great they are that people start to believe them. So it’s important to remember that when it comes to network marketing the proof is always in the pudding!

Everyone wants to give their opinion on the best way to make money from home and that’s okay. However, you need to know who to listen to sometimes. I mean if 20 people are telling you 20 different paths to success which one should you take?

I don’t know about you but If I’m trying to make money from home I want to listen to someone who actually is making money from home! Crazy I know.

It is unbelievable to me the number of men and women in network marketing who want to train everyone on their new method when they haven’t even had any success for themselves. When someone is telling you this and that about running your business always look at what they have accomplished before you take them too seriously.

It’s not to say that people who are just starting out can’t have good ideas. I’m just saying that if I have the choice of following someone who makes $20,000 a year or someone who makes $200,000 a year I’m going with the later every single time and so should you!

The proof is and always will be in the pudding and that makes it really easy to know who to ignore and who to follow to success.

People always want to re-invent the wheel but really why would you bother? It’s a million times easier just to look at someone who is already having success and follow them than invent your very own new system for success don’t you think?

So listen to the people who already know how to have success and ignore the rest. You and your paycheck will be glad you did!
