Those words have been quoted over and over again and they are so powerful because they can apply to so many different things. In this article I’m going to talk about knowing the truth about your home based business and how it can help you to grow both as a person and business owner.

When I say you need to know the truth about your business I really mean the truth about you, in your business. Because with the exception of the occasional scam almost all home based businesses have the ability to create an incredible life for you and your family if you know how to work them correctly.

In order for that to happen you have to be honest with yourself about yourself. Where are you really at? And how can you grow and become better so that your business will grow with you?

Many people don’t feel that they need to grow at all and that’s a huge problem because everyone has room for improvement in their life. Whether it’s your image of yourself or the way you interact with other people or how your present yourself to others there is always room for improvement.

When you’re honest with yourself you will be able to see that areas of your life and your business where you need to grow and you can correct those issues.

If you refuse to grow yourself you could be missing out on hundreds or even hundreds of thousands of dollars every single year. Think that’s shocking? Me too but it really is true.

So what do you say? Do you really see yourself clearly?

If you don’t there is no need to worry because you can always open your eyes and start changing today. The good news is it’s never too late to improve on yourself and when you improve on yourself your business will improve right along with you.

So stop looking at yourself through rose colored glasses and take a good look at the real you. It might be a challenge, it might even be hard but it will defiantly be worth it.

When you’ve been working from home for a while it’s easy to forget that for most people getting to work involves getting in the car, rain or shine, and fighting through traffic to get to the office.

This is hands down one of my favorite things about working from home and to be honest there are days when I do all of my work in bed! Seriously, all I need is an internet connection, a laptop and a cell phone. Who else can say that? Not to mention the money you’ll save on gas every month!

The Power Of The PJ!

Ok so not everyone who works from home works in their pajamas, but I bet they don’t put on a suit and tie either. Isn’t it nice to wake up every day and know you can wear whatever you want to wear?

It’s important for full time home business owners to remember that not everyone has that luxury, in fact almost no one does!

Boss…. What Boss?

Ask anyone who has a job why they’d like to work from home and one of the number one reasons will always be: “To fire my boss” or “To be my own boss”. Yet as soon as we actually make that happen we forget about the power in that.

Being your own boss is an amazing thing. To wake up and not have to worry about making anyone but yourself happy… what a great thing. It’s also awesome to know you can’t get fired!

NOT Working For The Weekend!

Being able to do things in the middle of most peoples work days is awesome! There are no lines at the bank, very few people in the movie theater and lots of parking spaces at the grocery store. Being able to go places without fighting the traffic or dealing with huge crowds is one of my favorite perks that come with working from home.

These are just a few simple examples of why working from home is the best possible career there is. So often we forget about these things and the hundreds of other reasons that make owning a home based business so great. Remember to enjoy working from home it truly is an amazing thing!

I know it sounds crazy but it’s true… you really can learn a lot about MLM from watching American Idol. Don’t have a clue what I’m talking about? Well check this out!

American Idol is the most popular show on T.V…. Why? Could it be Ryan Seacrest’s perfectly coifed head? Could it be Simon’s tiny black t-shirts? The crazy people who think they can sing but really sound like a dying cat? Or could it be that America’s favorite show holds little nuggets of knowledge for the home based business owner? Hmmm…

A.I Rule Number One: Keep on keeping’ on!

Have you ever seen an audition with someone who has a horrible voice but they just keep singing anyway? Simon tries to stop them and Randy tells them “it just wasn’t good dog” but they still keep going.

Ok, ok I know it’s really annoying on the show but in life that is exactly what you have to do. Keep on singing- er prospecting no matter what. You might have to hear a hundred no’s but if you keep on going you’ll get some yes’ too!

A.I Rule Number Two: The world is full of Simons

He might be mean and nasty but he’s always going to be on the show and trust me there are a lot of Simons out there! People are always going to tell you you’re crazy when you first get started in a home based business it’s just a fact of life. Ignore them and move on. Remember for every Simon there is always a Paula.

A.I. Rule Number Three: You gotta stand out!

Boring people never make it on American Idol. Even if they are really talented and have great voices if you’re dull you’re probably not gonna make it past the first audition. If you really want to succeed in a home based business you’re going to have to learn to stand out. No you don’t have to dress in a chicken costume… well unless you want to. Just don’t blend it with everyone else!

A.I. Rule Number 4: Don’t fake it

You don’t have to pretend to be someone else to have success. You can have success in any business as long as you’re the best version of yourself. The voters, um I mean prospects, can always spot a fake and nobody likes a phony.

When you become a part of a home based business more and more things are possible than ever before. The chances of you living the your dream house, taking an amazing vacation or driving your dream car are much more likely when you work for yourself than when you work at a regular job.

So why not start trying to figure out exactly what it is you’ll do once you make it big in your home based business. This exercise isn’t just for fun (although it will be) writing down you goals and dreams can be a big part in your success because it will encourage you to work even when you don’t want to and your success will come much sooner than if you don’t have any goals in mind.

For a lot of people their goals are all about money but that’s not really what you want to do. Money is something everybody wants but it’s what the money will allow you to do that will really get you motivated and excited.

Things like quitting your job, taking your kids on a great vacation, and buying a new car are what is really going to motivate you.

You’ll also want to make your goals and dreams as specific as possible. So instead of saying you want to buy a new house really think about the house you want. Where would it be? Is there a specific neighbor hood you’d like to live in? How many square feet? 3 car garage? Pool? The more specific the better.

The same thing goes for taking your dream vacation. Where would you go? What exactly would you do? How long would you stay? The more details you include the better!

People who know exactly what they want are much more equipped to succeed than someone who is going into their business blindly.

If writing your dreams and goals down isn’t enough you might want to think about cutting out pictures from magazines or taking pictures of things that you want or things that symbolize something special to you like quitting your job or spending more time with your kids.

By making your dreams as clear as possible you’ll work harder and be more driven to succeed and that can mean all the difference between success and failure in your home based business! So what will you do when you make it big?
