Network Marketing’s #1 Mistake And How To Avoid It!

Network marketing, you either love it or you hate it. If you’re successful in MLM you know there is nothing like the feeling of helping people while you help yourself.

It’s true, I admit it… I love network marketing. I believe it’s far and away the best way to make an honest living from home. However, there is one thing about network marketing that drives me crazy.

Everyone always wants to teach you how to network.

“Talk to your friends, talk to your family, talk to complete strangers.”

But nobody ever wants to talk about the marketing part of network marketing.

If you want success in MLM you’re going to have to learn how to market. So what do you do when your upline or your company doesn’t know or wont teach you how to do it?

The answer is simple… find someone who does know how to market and learn from them.

On the internet there are all kinds of marketing experts you just have to know where to find them. One of the best places to find a marketing expert is on a video sharing site like Youtube.

On Youtube there are a lot of silly videos but there are also a ton of videos that will teach you how to truly market your home based business.

Let me point out another thing too… marketing is not necessarily the same thing as advertising and almost all marketing online is free if you know what you’re doing.

Another great place to find marketing tips is on a forum. There are many, many forums on the internet dedicated to online marketing. One of the best ones is the Warrior forum. There is a wealth of information on marketing on the Warrior forum and all you have to do is read and learn!

Of course the best way to learn marketing in network marketing is through your upline. So if you’re not currently involved in a home based business shop around for a while and find someone who truly understands the art of marketing and how it applies to a home based business.

No product will ever sell it’s self without the use of marketing. So take some time and learn how to market your business more effectively, you and your paycheck will be glad you did.

Network Marketing Lies And Myths (We Tell Ourselves)

Home based business owners have a horrible habit of lying to ourselves about our business.  In this post I’ll go over the little lies we all tell ourselves and how to get real and start seeing more success.

Lie #1: My product/business will pretty much sell itself.

There is not a product or a business out there that is good enough to sell itself without any marketing.  Be real:  Some MLM products are, well, stupid, some are okay, and some are great.  You can get rich marketing any one of them.

Your product can be the greatest product in MLM, but if you are not working for it, it will not work for you.  Period.

The same can be said for your opportunity.  Just because you think it is the greatest way to make money form home does not mean people are going to be banging down your door begging to sign up.  No matter how great your business is, it’s going to take some effort on your part.

Lie #2: “So and so” probably doesn’t work that much

If you are making money in a network marketing business, you are going to work hard!  People tend to look at the top earners in their companies and believe that they do not work that hard or that they “just got lucky.”

They did not “just get lucky.”  They set a goal, worked hard, and sacrificed to get there (no matter what they say).  Success in this industry never comes without work.  Look at the top earners in your company as examples of what can happen when you work hard and set a goal and stop thinking the just caught  lucky break.

Lie #3: I do not have to improve myself

Everyone needs to do little things every month, every week, and every day to improve themselves.  Nobody is outside of this.  I am not saying there is anything wrong with you, but there is always room for improvement and if you are not working on yourself, your business is not going to grow (at least, not at the rate you want it to).

Lie #4: People will not say “no” to me

Let me be blunt:  You are going to hear “no” a lot.  Hearing the word “no” does not mean that your business is not good or your product stinks.  It just means that the person you are talking to is not interested.  Anyone who has had any kind of success in a home based business  has heard the word “no” a lot.  Get use to it!  Embrace it!  It has nothing to do with you; it is just the nature of the beast.

Lie #5: I’ll be quitting my job next month

There is no such thing as overnight success.  I am not saying that you cannot speed the process along, but the fact of the matter is that it is going to take a while to see huge success.  Don’t go telling your co-workers, your spouse, or your boss that you’ll be leaving before you’ve even got your first check.  It is just best for everyone.

It is awesome to shoot for greatness.  Just do not make your goals so high that when you do not meet them you get discouraged and want to quit.

Lie #6: My business will build itself

This is a lot like the first lie, but it is worth saying again:  No business will 100% build itself.  Sure, there are ways to automate your business and take a bit off your shoulder.  But it is going to require some work on your part.  Do not let anyone tell you differently.

Lie #7: My business does not need structure

Just because your home based business is not a job does not mean it does not need structure.  You cannot go weeks or days upon days without working your business.  You cannot work 30 hours one week and 3 the next!

Your network marketing business needs some sort of structure if it is really doing to work for you.  Of course, the beauty of working from home is you can fit that schedule around your life and the life of your family; just don’t get to loosey goosey with it.

Stop lying to yourself and start getting real!  I promise that when you do your business will be much better for it.

Build Your Successful Home Based Business Like A Child (And Get Rich!)

So many people involved in a home based business feel that they have to be extremely smart or mature in their business before the real success will come.  In this article I plan to show you how building your business like a child can help you see more results faster and grow your income in a huge way.

How could thinking like a child possibly help your business?  Here are a few reasons why you should act your shoe size … not your age.

Children only have one goal in mind at any given moment.  For instance, if you’ve ever seen a little boy or girl in the toy aisle at Wal-Mart or Target they’re usually begging their mom or dad for a toy.  In that moment, in the mind of a child, that toy is the most important thing on planet earth.

You can try and distract them but they want what they want and they’re not going to stop putting up a fight for it.

As a home based business owner you can learn a lot from this.  If we, as adults, had one-eighth the passion for success that the small child has for their toy we’d be hearing a lot more success stories in our home based businesses.

Children don’t have a plan B, and we shouldn’t either.  Almost all network marketing success stories come from people who were at a point in their lives when they literally had no other option but success.

In that moment in the toy aisle you’ll never see a child say, “Well I really want that new doll but I do have several other dolls at home I could play with so I’ll just forget about it.”

So, for instance, if your goal is to make a six figure income working from home you should not see yourself short by saying, “Well, I guess $60,000 is really all I need.”

Set a goal and allow yourself no other options but reaching that goal.

Another way children are great examples is how they deal with people.  Children have no fear.  If a little boy walks up to another little boy in the sandbox and asks him to play, he’s not thinking, “Oh gosh I don’t know if I should ask him to play.  I mean, he’s having a pretty good time in the sandbox, and I don’t want to bother him.”

NO!

If a kid wants to play with another kid he just walks up and asks him.  No fear, no beating around the bush.  If he want to play, great!  If not, at least he knows.

Have an idea of what I am getting at?  You have to talk to people about your home based business without any fear.  After all, the worst they can say is no, right?

Stop worrying about if you’re “bothering” people or trying to figure out exactly what they’re going to say.  Who cares?  You have something great in yoru hands and if they want it, awesome!  If they do not, so what?

Market your business less like an adult and more like a confident, excited child and your business will never be the same again!
